OpenTable vs Slotora for restaurants: nine rows, each with its source

No argument on this page, only the table. The OpenTable column says what OpenTable's own UK and Irish pages say; the Slotora column says what the product does, and where the answer is no, it says no.

Slotora’s column describes what the product does today.

The nine rows

Checked 16 October 2026. OpenTable: its plans pages for the UK and Ireland and its country site, all linked under the table. Slotora: what the product does, nothing planned.

8. Waiting listIn-house and online, in both plans.opentable.co.uk plans pageKept at the stand, and guests can join it themselves from their phone, by the QR code at your door or its link, with a queue position and a wait estimate. No text messages: the restaurant rings them.
9. Deposits, till, reviews, campaignsDeposits and card holds, POS integration, review management, Google's reserve button, experiences and ticketing in both plans; automated e-mail campaigns in Pro.opentable.co.uk, opentable.de plans pagesDeposits and card guarantees, charged through your own Stripe account once you have connected it; there is no till link, no reviews and no campaigns. Events with a ticket and a door list are in, free or paid for when booking.

The German and French pages are listed because the same facts were read there too. Its own footer says OpenTable is part of Booking Holdings.

Reading the table against your own book

Rows 3 and 4 are where the two systems differ most, and only your own records can say how much that matters. Three things to bring to the conversation:

  1. Covers by source, for three ordinary months

How many seated guests came through OpenTable's network, and how many through your website, the phone and the door. Row 3 applies to the first number only.

  2. Your renewal date

Row 6: the contract renews each year unless notice is given 30 days before. Write the date down before you compare anything else.

  3. What you used last week

Go down row 9 and mark what your team actually touched in a normal week. Anything you rely on there is something the Slotora column cannot give you.

Where the Slotora column is shorter, on purpose

  • No network means no bookings from Google, Instagram, TripAdvisor or OpenTable itself. Guests book on your own page, by phone or at the door.
  • No connection to another till, no review requests and no e-mail campaigns.
  • Guest records you can hand over: one guest's data exports in one go for a data-protection request, and the whole guest book exports as a CSV.

About this table

Why are there no OpenTable prices in it?

Its UK plans are quoted on request, published figures can change, and a comparison has to stay true for whoever reads it next month. The column describes how OpenTable charges; its own plans page, linked above, gives the current numbers.

Does OpenTable charge a cover fee on phone bookings?

Not according to its plans pages for the UK and Ireland: bookings through your own website, by phone and walk-ins carry no cover fee, and neither do no-shows or cancellations.

When will this table be checked again?

At least once a month while the page is up. The date at the top is the day every OpenTable cell was last read on OpenTable's own pages.
