Restaurant events, tastings and private dining, booked like a table

The wine dinner, the supper club, the six-course tasting, the office party in the back room. Each one gets its own page beside your table bookings, asks its own questions, gives every guest a ticket with a code, and leaves you a list at the door.

A paid event is paid when the guest books, into your own Stripe account once it is connected.

Three kinds of evening

They behave differently on the night, so they are set up differently. All three live under one Events item.

A ticketed session

A tasting, a supper club, a cookery demonstration: a set time, a number of seats, and guests who book a place rather than a table. When the seats are gone, the session is full.

A table experience

A set menu served at a table — the Valentine's menu, the Sunday feast for six. Guests book a table for it, with the party size limits and the length you set for the experience.

Private dining by enquiry

The back room for a birthday or the office party. Guests do not book it outright; they send an enquiry with the date, the party size, their name, e-mail, phone and a message, and you answer it.

Setting up an event

  • Dates and times — one evening, or every Thursday in November.
  • Capacity, and the smallest and largest party that may book.
  • How long the event lasts, which may be longer than a normal sitting.
  • Its own questions to the guest: dietary needs, allergies, the wine pairing or not.
  • A new private-dining space starts sized for groups — 8 to 40 guests, 40 seats, three hours, each party at its own table — and you change any of it.

From the booking to the door

  1. The guest books on your page

Your events sit on your own booking page, beside the table bookings. The guest picks the date, answers the event's questions and books.

  2. Paid, if the event costs money

For a paid event the guest pays for the ticket or the set menu as they book, in a Stripe checkout on your own account. If the last seats went while they were paying, the payment is refunded at once.

  3. A ticket with a code

Every booking gets a ticket with its own code, which the guest keeps on their phone.

  4. The guest list at the door

On the night, the host stand opens the event's guest list. Guests are checked in as they arrive, so the floor knows who is still to come before the first course goes out.

The room, and the rest of the restaurant

An event keeps its own seats; the floor plan carries on taking table bookings as usual. If the tasting takes over the back room, close that room for the evening in the booking rules, with the reason, and online table bookings will stop offering it. The main room keeps trading.

Your money, your guests

Paid into your account

Ticket money goes to your own Stripe account, once you have connected it. Slotora takes no commission on a ticket; Stripe charges its own processing fee.

Free events too

A free tasting or a launch evening works the same way, with the ticket, the code and the guest list and no payment step.
