For pubs and gastropubs · after Quandoo
A Quandoo alternative for pubs, where half the room never books and the restaurant side always does
Quandoo stopped taking bookings on 30 September 2026. If your pub's booking button ran through it, you are choosing a replacement now — and most of what is on offer was designed for a dining room, not for a bar, a Sunday and a garden under one roof.
Everything below describes what the product does.
Why a pub is a different booking problem
A dining room fills from the book. A pub fills from the door. The trade press has covered the tension for years: once guests got used to booking tables after 2020, walk-ins became harder to fit, and holding tables back costs turnover if nobody comes. One London pub went the other way long ago and stopped taking Sunday lunch bookings altogether, because seating walk-ins turned the tables faster.
Neither extreme suits most pubs that serve food. What does is a booking page that only offers the tables you chose to offer, at the times your kitchen can cook for, while the rest of the floor stays for whoever walks in out of the rain — or into the sun.
The four things a pub needs, and how Slotora does each
The bar, the dining room and the garden, each drawn separately
One pub can have several rooms or areas, each with its own floor plan to scale: the snug, the dining room, the garden. A booking lands on a real table in one of them, and the bar never has to appear on the booking page at all.
Tables held back for the door
Hold tables away from online booking so there is always somewhere to put a walk-in. When they come, seat them in one tap on the best free table for the party size, or put them on the waiting list with an honest estimate — or let them scan the QR by the door and put themselves on it from the bar.
Sunday lunch as its own service
Services have their own days and rooms. Sunday lunch can be a service of its own, with its own turn times by party size and a cap on how many covers the kitchen takes in a rolling window, so the roasts go out at a pace the pass can hold.
A garden that closes when it rains
Close one room with a reason — the garden, for the weather — and the booking page stops offering it while the inside carries on. Open it again when the sun is back.
The rest of a pub's week
- Big tables for birthdays and leaving dos: name the combinations of tables that can be pushed together, and say above what size a party has to ask rather than book.
- Regulars: a guest card keeps visits, no-shows and late cancellations, so the new member of staff knows who has had the corner table every Friday for six years — and that Friday table can be booked once as a standing booking instead of every week by hand.
- The phone that rings during service: bookings are taken at the host stand with the real free times in front of you, and they appear on every tablet and phone in the building at the same moment.
What it does not do, so you can decide quickly
- It does not talk to the till you already have: no EPOS integration. Orders at the table and the bill run in Slotora itself.
- It does not list your pub in a diners' marketplace or pass you bookings from Google or Instagram. Guests book from your own page, wherever you put the link.
- It does not fetch anything from Quandoo. You export your file from Quandoo yourself, before the end of the year, and import it as CSV or Excel: the screen suggests which column is which, you check it and see a preview, and an import can be undone. We help you through it if you want.
Pubs leaving Quandoo: questions
Can drinkers at the bar stay off the booking page completely?
Yes. Only the rooms you include in a service are offered online. The bar does not have to be one of them.
Can I stop online bookings for the garden when the forecast is bad?
Yes. Close the garden as a room, with a reason, and the booking page stops offering it while the rest of the pub stays bookable.
What happens to the Quandoo bookings we still have for December?
They still stand: Quandoo said bookings for later dates remain valid. Export them before 31 December 2026 and confirm each guest yourself.
Does Slotora connect to our EPOS?
No: Slotora does not connect to the EPOS you already have. Orders at the table and the bill run in Slotora itself.
