A ResDiary alternative for restaurants that would rather not count their bookings
If you are on ResDiary, you already pay no commission, so that is not the difference. The difference is how the monthly price is set, and how much sits around the book itself.
Those on the early-access list are told the opening day first.
The same kind of system, priced on a different axis
ResDiary states on its pricing page that it takes no commission on bookings from any source, and it is paid by subscription. So is Slotora. Neither is a marketplace that takes a cut of each cover.
Where they part is the axis the price moves along. ResDiary sells four monthly tiers that differ mainly by the number of bookings included, and adds paid extras on top. Slotora has a single plan with no booking count in it: the restaurant that takes forty bookings in a quiet week of January pays what it pays in the week before Christmas. If your volume swings with the seasons, that is the line to put your own numbers against.

Stay with ResDiary if
- Your bookings need to reach an EPoS, or a hotel's property-management system: that is what its integrations are for, and Slotora connects to neither.
- Diners find you through DesignMyNight, or book through Google and your social pages, and those covers matter.
- You use pre-orders, gift vouchers or its CRM and marketing add-on.
What Slotora puts in their place
Less reach, more attention to the room you actually trade in.
Rooms that cannot lie
Each dining room, terrace or bar drawn in centimetres. A table pushed into a pillar or out through a wall is refused when the plan is saved, and combinations name exactly which tables go together for a big party.
The briefing before doors
Large parties, first-time guests, birthdays mentioned at booking, the kitchen's pacing for the night and the last shift's handover note, on one screen before service.
The numbers afterwards
Covers, chair utilisation, turns and average party size, plus the demand you turned away and why: no table, the pacing ceiling, closed, too late.
Every tablet and phone on the floor sees the same evening, and guests book on a page at your own address.
Said before you ask
- Slotora does not connect to a till, a PMS or Reserve with Google.
- It sells no vouchers or gift cards; a deposit it takes goes to your Stripe account, not to Slotora.
- It does not connect to ResDiary. What it imports is a file: pick ResDiary on the import screen and it shows ResDiary's export steps; you match the columns of the CSV or Excel file, check a preview and import, and an import can be undone.
ResDiary users usually ask
Is Slotora cheaper than ResDiary?
We do not print ResDiary's prices, so we will not answer with a figure. Its pricing page shows its tiers; ours is one price per location. Put your own busiest and quietest months against both and the answer will be yours, not ours.
Can I bring my ResDiary bookings across?
Through a file, not a connection. Slotora's import takes a CSV or Excel file of bookings: it suggests from the header row which column is which, you confirm, look at a preview and import. Bookings still to come arrive confirmed and wait for your host to give them a table; past ones become each guest's visit history. If you would rather do it with us, we help.
Is there a limit on staff logins?
No. Staff and devices are unlimited at the one price, and each person gets a login of their own. ResDiary lists unlimited users as included as well, so on this point the two do not differ.
