Leaving Quandoo: a week-by-week plan for your restaurant until New Year

Quandoo switches off on 31 December 2026. That sounds like plenty of time until you lay it next to the busiest six weeks of the year. Here is the order that works.

Published

Three clocks, not one deadline

Most of what has been written about Quandoo's closure is about one date. In practice you are running three clocks at once, and they do not stop at the same time.

The first is your data. Restaurant partners can export reservations and guest lists until 31 December 2026; after that, Quandoo keeps data only as long as the law requires and then deletes or anonymises it. That clock is long, and it is the one everybody talks about.

The second is the guests who already booked. A booking made before 30 September 2026 for a date in November or December still stands, but since 1 October 2026 nobody is reminding that guest of it. Each of those bookings has its own clock, and it runs out on the evening of the booking.

The third is December. Switching how you take bookings in the middle of Christmas parties is how a table gets sold twice. Whatever you choose, it should be running before the first big week, not during it.

Put together, those clocks give you an order. Here it is, week by week from mid-October.

The plan

  1. Week of 19 October — get everything out

Export your reservations and your guest list now, while support is answering quickly. Open the file on a computer and check that it has what you expect: names, phone numbers, e-mails, dates, party sizes. If something is missing, ask Quandoo in writing this week.

  2. Week of 26 October — find every dead link

Your website's booking button, the link on your Google profile, the Instagram bio, the e-mail signature, the menu card. Point each one at your phone number for now. A dead link costs you a booking you never hear about.

  3. Week of 2 November — call the bookings that carry money

From the export, take every booking still ahead, biggest party first. Ring or e-mail each guest: you have their table, Quandoo has closed, here is how to reach you. December parties before anything else.

  4. Weeks of 9 and 16 November — choose

Shortlist two or three systems and ask each the same questions: is there any fee per booking or per cover, can I get my data out when I leave, is it my own booking page or a marketplace listing. Decide by the end of the second week.

  5. Week of 23 November — set it up before December

Draw the room, set lunch and dinner, how long each party size keeps a table, and the largest party you take online. Enter the carried-over bookings on their real tables. Run one quiet evening on it before a busy one.

  6. Week of 30 November — switch the links over

Replace the phone-number stopgaps with the new booking link everywhere you found a dead one in October. Tell the team where bookings now live.

  7. December — trade, do not migrate

Nothing new this month. Keep the export file safe, and only go back to Quandoo if you find something missing, well before the last week of the year.

  8. January — tidy the file

Keep the guest details you need to look after your guests and delete the rest of the export. A copy of an old platform's data sitting on a laptop is a risk, not an asset.

If you are reading this late

If it is already December, compress the plan rather than skip it. Do the export and the dead links on the same day; call only the bookings dated before the end of January; and if a new system would have to start during your busiest fortnight, keep a paper or spreadsheet diary until it is over. A clean switch in January is better than a messy one on a Saturday in December.

And if 31 December 2026 has passed: the platform is gone, but your guests are not. The people who booked through Quandoo will still come back to a restaurant they liked, and your own booking page, on your own website, is where they will look.

Where Slotora fits in that calendar

  • Slotora for restaurants is one of the systems to shortlist for your November setup week, and the plan works with any system.
  • In your setup week, the file you exported in October goes into its import: you check which column is which and look at a preview first. The December bookings arrive confirmed but without a table, and your host places each one on a floor plan drawn to scale, so they land on tables that exist; past bookings become your regulars' visit history.
  • Import the same file twice and nothing is doubled; an import that went wrong can be undone. Its booking rules then hold the kitchen's pace on the online page by themselves. If you want a hand with the import, we help.
