Feature · QR code ordering

Restaurant QR code ordering that still goes past a waiter

A guest at table 7 scans the code on the table, reads your menu in their own language with the allergens on every dish, and orders the second round without waving for anyone. A waiter sees it, confirms it, and only then does the kitchen.

A setting per restaurant: it starts off, and you turn it on when your team is ready for it.

How a QR order travels

  1. The guest scans the table's code

Each table has its own code, which you print from Slotora and stand on the table. The code opens the menu for that table and nobody else's.

  2. They read the menu in their language

Dishes, sizes and options as you built them, with the 14 allergens and the vegetarian and vegan marks — in the guest's own language where you have written the dish names in it.

  3. A waiter confirms

The order appears for the floor team, who confirm it before it goes anywhere. A waiter can glance at the table, catch the guest who ordered four desserts for two, or suggest the wine.

  4. The kitchen and the bill

Once confirmed, each dish goes to its station's screen within 5 seconds, and the order joins the table's bill, beside whatever the waiter took by hand.

Why the waiter stays in the loop

QR ordering saves the walk to the table for the easy things. The confirmation keeps the judgement where it was.

Allergies go past a person

A guest whose card lists an allergy always waits for a waiter, whatever the restaurant has chosen. A menu can tell someone what is in a dish; only a person can ask what they actually need.

Your choice of speed

Some places — a busy café, a beer hall at the weekend — want the order to go straight to the kitchen. That is a setting. Every other restaurant keeps the confirmation step.

Only for a seated table

The code takes orders while a party is sat at that table. A photo of it taken home is useless for ordering once the table has been cleared, and a prank from the street goes nowhere.

Paying from the same code

At the end of the evening the guest can pay their check from the table's code, with a tip of their own choosing, straight into your own Stripe account once it is connected. Slotora takes no commission on it.

  • The bill can be split by dish, by seat or into equal shares first, so each person pays their own check.
  • A waiter can still take the card at the table with Tap to Pay on a phone, for the guests who prefer it.
  • A manager can refund a payment, giving the reason for it.

Setting it up

The menu comes first

QR ordering shows the menu you already keep in Slotora — the same dishes, prices, allergens and the hours each dish is served. Change a dish once and the guests at the table read the change.

Codes you print

Print each table's code from Slotora and put it in a stand or under the glass. It takes orders only while a party is seated there, so the codes can stay on the tables all day.

Faster second rounds, the same service
