Quandoo vs Slotora, for a restaurant that has to choose before New Year
One table, in the order the move happens. Every Quandoo cell comes from what Quandoo or the trade press published; every Slotora cell is something the product does today, or says plainly that it does not. Quandoo stops for good on 31 December 2026.
Where a row describes Slotora, it describes what is built today.
The move, row by row
| Quandoo | Slotora for restaurants | |
|---|---|---|
| Can it take a booking tonight? | No. New bookings stopped on 30 September 2026; from 1 October 2026 restaurants cannot handle bookings through it.Verdict; Tageskarte | The early-access list is open now, and it hears the opening day first. |
| Your contract | Ended automatically on 30 September 2026. Nothing to cancel.Tageskarte | Paid monthly, per location, after a 3-day trial. |
| Bookings already made for later dates | They stay valid and the guests expect a table; Quandoo recommends exporting them.Tageskarte | Imported from your export file, they arrive confirmed at their date and time, waiting for your host to place each on a table, and sit beside everything new. |
| Your guest list | Restaurant partners can export reservation data and guest lists until 31 December 2026.Tageskarte; quandoo.co.uk | Each guest has a card with visits, no-shows and late cancellations; past bookings in your import become that history. One guest's data can be exported on request, and a guest can stop messages with one click. |
| Moving the data for you | Not offered: no direct integration or migration to another system.Tageskarte | Not automatic either: you import your own CSV or Excel export. The screen suggests which column is which, you confirm it and see a preview, and an import can be undone. We help if you ask. |
| After the last day | Data kept only as long as the law requires, then deleted or anonymised.Tageskarte | Your account keeps a log of every change and who made it, for two years. |
| Where guests book | Nowhere: the website now says the platform is no longer available.quandoo.co.uk | Your own booking page, with your rooms and your rules. A guest gets a link to cancel, change the party size or move to another free time, without an account. |
| What a booking costs you | Nothing any more: there are no bookings. | No commission on a booking or a cover. One monthly price per location. |
Why the table has no feature-by-feature rows
You will see comparison pages with a column of ticks under a closed system's name. We left that out on purpose. A system that no longer runs cannot be checked, and a tick you cannot check is an advertisement, not a fact. The useful comparison now is between what you had and what you will need on the first busy Saturday without it.
- A floor plan drawn to scale, so the booking you take on the phone lands on a table that exists.
- Rules the booking page obeys by itself: lunch and dinner with their own days, how long each party size keeps a table, how many covers the kitchen can take in a rolling window, the largest party you accept online.
- Phone bookings taken at the host stand with the real free times in front of you, and a returning guest found by name or number.
- A guest card that remembers who came, who did not, and who cancelled late, so the answer does not depend on who is working tonight.
What Slotora does not promise, said before you ask
- It is not a diners' marketplace. You will not appear in a consumer listing because you use it, and it does not pass you bookings from Google, Instagram or OpenTable.
- There is no button that pulls your data out of Quandoo. You export the file yourself before the end of the year; importing it into Slotora is a few checked steps — match the columns, read the preview — not one click.
- A deposit or a card guarantee at booking goes through your own Stripe account, which you connect yourself; Slotora never holds the guest's money. Set the rule up before your first busy weekend, not during it.

Questions about this comparison
Why does the Quandoo column not say what its software could do?
Because it no longer runs, so nobody can check it, and comparative advertising has to be verifiable. The column says only what Quandoo and the trade press published about the closure.
Is Slotora cheaper than Quandoo was?
We do not compare prices with Quandoo: its contracts ended on 30 September 2026 and its terms are no longer on offer. Slotora's own price is on the pricing page: per location per month, with no commission.
Can I see Slotora before I decide?
Join the early-access list: it is told the opening day first, and a restaurant coming from Quandoo can ask us for a call about the move.
