Who it is for

Slotora is built for businesses that sell time: salons, barbers and nail studios, but equally massage and physiotherapy, beauty and aesthetics clinics, personal trainers, yoga and pilates studios, tattoo artists, tutors, coaches and consultants. If your day is a calendar of named appointments with durations and prices, it fits.

Who it is not for

One thing worth saying plainly, because it will save you ten minutes: Slotora is an appointment booking system. If you take room or overnight bookings for a hotel, B&B or holiday let, you want accommodation software, not this — the two are called the same thing and are not the same product.

What you get for £0

Everything. There is no feature tier, no seat count and no booking allowance, because there is no paid plan to hold anything back for.

Bookings

A self-service booking page on your own link, taking appointments 24/7. Per-person working hours, split shifts, buffers, processing time, capacity-limited group sessions, recurring appointments and multi-service baskets. Clients reschedule themselves within the window you set and can cancel right up to the start time — a late cancellation is priced, not blocked. When a slot frees up with enough notice left to book it, the waitlist emails the first 25 people waiting for that day — first come, first served.

Clients

A record per client with history, spend, tags, notes and no-show count. Intake and consent forms sent by email or SMS, completed and signed on the client's phone before they arrive. Import from a spreadsheet, export whenever you like.

Money

Optional deposits, full prepayment, and no-show or late-cancellation fees, all through your own Stripe account with 0% taken by Slotora. Gift cards, prepaid passes and coupon codes are included, each redeemed with its code at checkout or at the counter. A reports dashboard shows revenue, bookings, top services and top clients.

What costs money, plainly

Three things, and all three are optional. SMS reminders are pay-as-you-go prepaid credit — the per-text price for your market is published on the pricing page, and email reminders are unlimited and free, so SMS is never required. Nita, the AI assistant who writes your posts and answers guests on your booking page, is a monthly subscription from £9.99. The AI phone receptionist is £49.99 per 100 minutes, prepaid. Card payments are not on the list: they use your own Stripe Connect account, Slotora adds 0%, and Stripe charges its standard fee directly. That is the complete list.

How free booking systems usually make money

It is a fair question and the answer differs by platform. Some cap bookings or seats and sell the cap away. Some are marketplaces that charge commission on clients they introduce. Some add a margin to card processing. Some paywall the features that protect revenue — deposits, no-show fees, reminders. Slotora does none of these; the revenue is the three optional extras — SMS credit, Nita and the AI phone receptionist — sold at cost plus a thin margin, and that is why every one of those prices is published rather than quoted.

What the limits usually are

The shape of a typical free booking plan, against Slotora. Check any competitor's current pricing page before deciding — these tiers change often.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a completely free booking system?

Slotora is free to use with no booking cap, no user cap and no commission, and no card is required to open an account. Three extras are billable and optional: SMS reminders, Nita the AI assistant, and the AI phone receptionist. Card payments are not one of them — they go through your own Stripe account at 0% from us.

What is the catch?

There is no feature you will hit a wall on. The business model is that a small share of businesses buy one of the three optional extras — SMS credit, Nita the AI assistant, or the AI phone receptionist — and all three are priced openly. If you only ever send email reminders, Slotora costs you nothing.

Is there a limit on how many bookings I can take?

No. There is no monthly booking allowance and no cap that scales with your team, which is the limit most free plans actually enforce.

Can my whole team use it on the free plan?

Yes. Each person gets their own working hours, their own calendar column and their own limited login, at any team size, at no cost.

Can I take deposits and charge no-show fees?

Yes, as a percentage, a fixed amount or full prepayment, plus no-show and late-cancellation fees. These run through your own Stripe Connect account; Slotora adds 0% and Stripe's standard processing fee applies. Card payments are optional and off until you connect Stripe.

Does it work for a business that is not a salon?

Yes. Anything that runs on named appointments with a duration works — clinics, trainers, therapists, tutors, consultants, studios. The one thing it is not built for is accommodation and room bookings.

May we measure which pages actually help? “Accept all” also lets us measure our own adverts.

What exactly does this mean?

We'd like to use Google Analytics to see which pages help and which don't, and to remember which poster or flyer brought you here. Accept all also allows a Meta advertising pixel, so we can tell which of our own adverts brought a salon that signed up — and if you create an account, your name and email address go to Meta scrambled (hashed), never as readable text, purely so it can recognise that the sign-up came from an advert. None of this runs on a salon's own booking page. Everything the service itself needs works either way. Cookie Policy
