What actually costs money
The platform is free — no booking limit, no commission, no price per head. We charge where one use costs us money to somebody else: a text message, an AI-drawn picture, a minute of a phone call. Here is what each of those costs.
Credits: texts and AI
One prepaid balance pays for text reminders and for what the AI makes for you. Email reminders are unlimited and free, so a text is never required — it is for the clients who read texts and not email. You buy credits when you want them, with no subscription, and they never expire.
- A text reminder4 credits
- A picture the AI draws for a post6 credits
- A post the AI writes for you2 credits
| Pack | Price | Per credit |
|---|---|---|
| 100 credits | £2.00 | £0.0200 |
| 200 credits | £3.80 | £0.0190 |
| 500 credits | £9.00 | £0.0180 |
| 1,000 credits | £16.50 | £0.0165 |
Prices for this market, for a pack bought on the web. A text to a dearer destination costs more — you always see the cost before you send.
AI phone receptionist
The AI answers your salon’s phone in the window you choose, speaks the caller’s language and books real appointments straight into your calendar. The minutes come as a prepaid pack, and they tick only while she is actually on a call — not while the phone rings, and not for a call nobody picked up.
- £49.99 for 100 minutes, prepaid£0.50 a minute
Apply from the admin (AI phone) — we set up the number and call forwarding with you before anything is charged.
Card payments
Deposits, full prepayment, no-show fees and payments taken at the counter all run through your own Stripe account. A client who pays a deposit has their card stored by Stripe — they are told before they pay — and a no-show fee comes off it automatically about an hour later, unless you switch that off. Slotora adds 0% on top: online and in the salon, the money goes straight to you.
Stripe charges its own standard processing fee, roughly 1.5% + 20p for UK cards. Card payments are optional and off until you connect Stripe; cash and your own card machine can be recorded without it.
Everything here is topped up in advance and nothing you top up expires. There is no monthly minimum, and stopping does not take away what you have already bought.
No card is needed to sign up. You pay for the things that cost us money every time they are used — text messages, AI-drawn pictures and AI phone minutes — and each is topped up in advance rather than subscribed to. Email reminders are free, and card payments carry nothing on top of Stripe’s own fee.
Pricing questions
Will the free plan start costing money?
No. Bookings, your calendar, your clients and their reminders are free, and our terms say so. Anything we build that costs us money every single time it is used goes on the list above; the plan itself stays free.
Does credit I have bought expire?
No. Credits and phone minutes stay on your account until you spend them. There is no monthly minimum keeping them alive.
Do I have to buy anything to use Slotora properly?
No. A salon can run entirely on the free plan — email reminders reach every guest, and nothing in the calendar, the client list or the booking page is held back.
Do you take commission?
No, 0% — on bookings, gift cards and passes, including a guest who finds you in the Slotora directory. Card payments land in your own Stripe account and we add nothing on top.
Is there a team on your floor?
If several people work in your salon, and somebody else keeps the day running while you are with a client, that is a different job from one diary — and there is a Slotora written for it.
