Online make-up courses

Online make-up courses from working make-up artists

Skin prep, matching a base, bridal make-up that lasts the day, editorial looks — recorded so the brush, the product and the face are in one frame, and the step you missed is one tap away.

No make-up course in English is on sale yet

Make-up artists are still preparing their courses. The catalogue already lists courses in other professions and languages.

Start with skin, not with looks

A finished look on a screen is the least useful part of a make-up lesson. What lasts is how the artist prepares the skin, chooses a base for its undertone, and decides how much product the face actually needs. Courses that show those decisions — and say why — teach you something you can use on the next face, not only on the one in the video.

Light and the camera change colour — a good course says how

Ring lights flatten texture, phone cameras warm skin up, and a base that matched perfectly on set can look grey in daylight. Look for an educator who shows the result in natural light as well as on camera, and who works on more than one skin tone.

When you practise, photograph your own work in the same light every time. Comparing like with like is how you see progress.

Hygiene and your kit

Decanting, cleaning brushes between clients, never double-dipping into a mascara wand: hygiene is the part of make-up artistry clients notice when it is missing. A complete course covers it even if it is the least photogenic lesson.

A product an educator uses on screen is a recommendation, not a requirement. Watch the first lessons before you buy new kit, and buy what you will actually use.

Questions about online make-up courses

Is there a course for bridal make-up specifically?

Use the catalogue's search: type “bridal” and it looks for the word in every course's title and short description. The list on this page shows every make-up course taught in English.

Can I try a lesson before paying?

Where the educator has marked a free preview lesson, it opens from the course page without buying. Not every course has one.

Where do I watch after buying?

In My courses, on your phone or computer. You sign in with an emailed link, and the course remembers which lessons you have finished.

How is this list ordered?

Newest first. No educator can pay for a higher place.

May we measure which pages actually help? “Accept all” also lets us measure our own adverts.

What exactly does this mean?

We'd like to use Google Analytics to see which pages help and which don't, and to remember which poster, flyer or message of ours — or which salon's recommendation — brought you here. Accept all also allows a Meta advertising pixel, so we can tell which of our own adverts brought a salon that signed up — and if you create an account, our server sends Meta your email address scrambled (hashed), never as readable text, with your IP address, your browser's details and Meta's own cookie ids — never your name — purely so it can recognise that the sign-up came from an advert. None of this runs on a salon's own booking page. Everything the service itself needs works either way. Cookie Policy
