Fresha and Slotora, for Canadian salons

A Fresha alternative for Canada: what each one charges you for

Fresha earns from the new clients its marketplace sends you and from processing your card payments. Slotora is a monthly subscription that takes no commission on anything. Here is what Fresha's own pages say, point by point, with the day we read them.

Two different ways of being paid

Fresha's business is the marketplace: clients search Fresha, find you and book, and the first booking each new client makes through it carries a fee. It also processes your card payments itself, so a share of every card payment goes through Fresha.

Slotora's business is the subscription. It takes nothing from your bookings, gift cards, passes or card payments; your clients pay into your own Stripe account and Stripe charges its own fee. What you pay Slotora is the same whether a client is new or has come for ten years.

When Fresha is the better choice

Said in Fresha's favour, from its own pages.

You want new clients from a marketplace
Fresha's marketplace is the point of Fresha, and the 20% is what a client it finds for you costs. Slotora's directory is new in Canada and will not send you many clients for a while.
You want a company with a Canadian entity
Fresha's group includes a British Columbia company. Slotora is run from the United Kingdom.
You want some texts included
Fresha's own (UK) pricing page includes a number of free automated texts each month. Slotora charges for every text, from prepaid credit, and includes email reminders.

Questions about Fresha and Slotora in Canada

Does Slotora take a fee when a new client books?

No. Slotora takes no commission on any booking, gift card, pass or card payment, whether the client is new or not.

What does Fresha charge in Canada each month?

Fresha has a plan for one calendar and a team plan per member. We did not find a Canadian-dollar price list on Fresha's own site when we checked on 7 November 2026, so we do not quote one — ask Fresha for its Canadian price.

How much notice do I give to leave?

Fresha's partner terms ask for not less than 30 days' written notice. Slotora can be cancelled at any time and runs to the end of the period you have paid for.

Are Slotora's card fees lower than Fresha's?

We cannot say: Fresha does not publish its Canadian card rates on its own site. Slotora's are Stripe's standard Canadian rates, paid to Stripe, and Slotora adds nothing.

Is either one available in Québec?

Slotora is not open in Québec yet. Fresha has a French site written for France; we found no Québec version.

May we measure which pages actually help? “Accept all” also lets us measure our own adverts.

What exactly does this mean?

We'd like to use Google Analytics to see which pages help and which don't, and to remember which poster, flyer or message of ours — or which salon's recommendation — brought you here. Accept all also allows a Meta advertising pixel, so we can tell which of our own adverts brought a salon that signed up — and if you create an account, our server sends Meta your email address scrambled (hashed), never as readable text, with your IP address, your browser's details and Meta's own cookie ids — never your name — purely so it can recognise that the sign-up came from an advert. None of this runs on a salon's own booking page. Everything the service itself needs works either way. Cookie Policy
