Vagaro and Slotora, for Canadian salons

A Vagaro alternative for Canada, with the places Vagaro wins

Vagaro publishes more of its Canadian pricing than most, and on card fees and reminders it is the cheaper of the two. Slotora takes no commission on anything and signs a contract under English law with no arbitration clause. Here is what Vagaro's own Canadian pages say, point by point, with the day we read them.

Where each one makes its money

Vagaro charges a subscription per calendar and earns on card payments it processes for you through Vagaro Merchant Services. Its card rates are published, and in person they are lower than Stripe's standard Canadian rates.

Slotora charges a subscription and takes nothing else: no commission on bookings, gift cards or passes, and no share of card payments, which go through your own Stripe account at Stripe's own rates. If most of your takings are card payments at the counter, do the sum with your own numbers before you choose.

No. Slotora takes no commission on any booking, gift card, pass or card payment.

What law governs each contract?

Vagaro's user agreement: California law, Los Angeles County, and binding individual arbitration unless you opt out within 30 days. Slotora's terms: the law of England and Wales, with no arbitration clause.

Why do you not quote Vagaro's price for an extra calendar?

Because two of Vagaro's own pages gave different figures on 7 November 2026. Ask Vagaro for the current one.

Is either one available in Québec?

Slotora is not open in Québec yet. Vagaro's French-Canadian pricing page answered “page not found” when we checked.

May we measure which pages actually help? “Accept all” also lets us measure our own adverts.

What exactly does this mean?

We'd like to use Google Analytics to see which pages help and which don't, and to remember which poster, flyer or message of ours — or which salon's recommendation — brought you here. Accept all also allows a Meta advertising pixel, so we can tell which of our own adverts brought a salon that signed up — and if you create an account, our server sends Meta your email address scrambled (hashed), never as readable text, with your IP address, your browser's details and Meta's own cookie ids — never your name — purely so it can recognise that the sign-up came from an advert. None of this runs on a salon's own booking page. Everything the service itself needs works either way. Cookie Policy
