Salon booking software for Canada, built around your province
Slotora takes your appointments online, reminds your clients and keeps your diary, client records and deposits in one place — for salons, barbers and nail, lash, brow and beauty professionals across English-speaking Canada. Billed in Canadian dollars after a 14-day free trial, with no commission on any booking.
Start your 14-day free trialWho it is for, and who it is not for yet
Slotora is for independent professionals and salon teams in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, and the three territories. One chair or a whole team: every bookable person keeps their own diary, working hours and breaks.
Québec is not open yet. Québec's language law asks for the software, the contract and the invoices in French first, and our French version for Québec is not finished. If your business is in Québec, the sign-up form tells you so and offers to put you on the waiting list — we would rather say it here than let you find out halfway through setting up.
What you get
The same product salons in the UK and across Europe use every day, set up for Canada.
Your own booking page
Clients pick a service, a person and a free time on your page — from Instagram, Google or your website — without creating an account. Each team member's hours, breaks and buffers are respected.
Reminders
Email confirmations and reminders are included. Text reminders are paid per message from prepaid credit, and you choose whether to send them.
Deposits and no-show fees
Taken in Canadian dollars through your own Stripe account. The money is yours from the moment it is captured, and Slotora takes none of it.
Clients and records
Visit history, notes, consultation and consent forms with e-signature, and before-and-after photos. Bring your list over from a spreadsheet or your old system's export; the importer finds the columns.
Gift cards and passes
Included, each redeemed with its code at checkout or at the counter.
The app
The Slotora app for iPhone and Android runs the same diary, so the day can be run from your phone.
Built for how Canada works
The details a booking system written for another country gets wrong.
Postal codes and provinces
Your postal code (A1A 1A1) tells Slotora your province, and everything that differs by province follows from it — so there is no province to pick and nothing that can disagree with your address.
Statutory holidays, province by province
The opening-hours page lists your province's statutory holidays for the next 18 months — Ontario's Family Day and Boxing Day, B.C. Day and Truth and Reconciliation Day, Saskatchewan Day, Newfoundland and Labrador's six. Tick the days you close and online booking closes with you.
Time zones, including the awkward ones
When you save your postal code, your time zone follows your province: Newfoundland's half hour (UTC−3:30), and Saskatchewan, which does not change its clocks. North-western Ontario, Lloydminster and the East Kootenay can pick their own zone in settings.
Interac at the counter
With a Stripe card reader, Canadian debit cards (Interac) are taken alongside Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Interac payments can only be refunded in person with the same card, and Slotora tells you that rather than failing quietly.
Tap to Pay, salon by salon
Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android is switched on for Canadian salons one by one, once it has been tested with Canadian cards — ask us when you sign up. An Interac tap above C$100 needs the card inserted with a PIN, which a phone cannot do, so take those on a card reader or by credit card.
Texts that carriers deliver
Canadian carriers filter business texts and do not accept a sender name. Slotora sends every Canadian text from one verified toll-free number, with your salon's name in it, a link to your page and “Reply STOP to opt out”. Your booking form tells clients that before they give their number.
What it costs in Canada
One monthly price for your whole team, counted by the people clients can book, with a cap — after a 14-day free trial with everything open, and no card needed to start.
| One bookable person | C$19 a month |
|---|---|
| Each additional bookable person | + C$10 a month |
| A team of three | C$39 a month |
| 6 or more people | C$69 a month, however many |
| Paying yearly | C$190 a year for one person — two months free |
Prices in Canadian dollars. No GST/HST is added at present. No commission on bookings, gift cards, passes or card payments. Text messages and the AI work you ask for are paid separately, from prepaid credit. Cancel at any time; the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
Where your data is stored
Slotora is operated by Belavin Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Your salon's data is stored in a database in London, United Kingdom (Amazon Web Services, region eu-west-2), and the providers that send your emails and texts, take card payments and deliver app notifications process some of it in the United States.
You can download everything you have put in, at any time, at no charge, and delete your account from Settings.
What to know before you choose us
The places where Slotora is not the obvious pick in Canada, said plainly.
- Québec has to wait
- There is no French version for Québec yet, so salons there cannot sign up.
- Texts are not in the subscription
- Many Canadian competitors include text reminders in their monthly price. Slotora includes email reminders and charges for each text from prepaid credit, so a salon that texts every client should count that in.
- Card fees are Stripe's
- Card payments run through your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard Canadian rates. Some competitors that process cards themselves charge less per in-person payment.
- We are new in Canada
- Our directory will not send you many new clients here for a while. Slotora is for running the clients you have, and for bringing them back.
Questions Canadian salons ask
Can I use Slotora in Québec?
Not yet. Québec requires the software, the contract and the invoices in French first, and our Québec French version is not finished. The sign-up form offers Québec businesses the waiting list.
Do you take a commission on bookings?
No — not on appointments, gift cards, passes or card payments. Card payments go to your own Stripe account, and Stripe charges its fee directly to you.
How much is it?
C$19 a month for one bookable person and C$10 for each additional one, never more than C$69 a month; or C$190 a year for one person.
How long is the free trial?
14 days from sign-up, with everything open. No card is needed to start; you subscribe from the plan page when you are ready.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time, from the plan page. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew.
Will my clients get text reminders?
If you switch texts on, yes — from one verified toll-free number, with your salon's name and “Reply STOP to opt out” in every message. Email reminders are always included.
Where is my data stored?
Your salon's data is stored in a database in London, United Kingdom (Amazon Web Services, region eu-west-2), and the providers that send your emails and texts, take card payments and deliver app notifications process some of it in the United States.
Try it with your own services and hours
Create the account, add your services and opening hours, and share your booking page. 14 days free, then a monthly subscription in Canadian dollars that you can cancel at any time.
