When a client does not turn up

What happens when you mark a booking as a no-show: the fee and when it is charged, the waiting list, the client's record and the block list.

Mark the booking as a no-show from the booking screen, on the web or in the app. Everything below follows from that one tap, and nothing happens to a client who has simply not been marked.

The no-show fee

  • It is only charged if you have set a no-show fee under Payments and the client saved a card when they booked — once Stripe is connected and card payments are switched on, Slotora asks for the card automatically whenever a fee is set (not while you approve booking requests yourself)
  • It is charged automatically an hour after the appointment was due to end. Marked the wrong booking? On the web, tap Undo straight away — it stays on screen for 15 seconds; the app asks you to confirm before it marks anything. After that, switching off Charge these fees automatically before the hour is up stops the charge
  • Switch off Charge these fees automatically under Payments if you would rather charge from the booking yourself
  • If the bank declines the card, Slotora does not try again on its own — you can retry from the booking once the client has sorted it out

The waiting list

If you mark the no-show early enough that the time could still be booked online, the time counts as freed, and the people on the waiting list for that service and day get an email naming it. Whoever books first gets it.

The client's record

Every no-show is counted on the client's profile, so a pattern is visible the next time they book. A client who keeps not turning up can be blocked from booking online with one tap on their profile — they can still phone you, and you can still book them in yourself from New booking.

May we measure which pages actually help? “Accept all” also lets us measure our own adverts.

What exactly does this mean?

We'd like to use Google Analytics to see which pages help and which don't, and to remember which poster, flyer or message of ours — or which salon's recommendation — brought you here. Accept all also allows a Meta advertising pixel, so we can tell which of our own adverts brought a salon that signed up — and if you create an account, our server sends Meta your email address scrambled (hashed), never as readable text, with your IP address, your browser's details and Meta's own cookie ids — never your name — purely so it can recognise that the sign-up came from an advert. None of this runs on a salon's own booking page. Everything the service itself needs works either way. Cookie Policy
